FAQ About Chimney Cleaning
Power Sweeping
with the Latest Technology
Ever since there have been chimneys, there have been people sweeping them. But times have changed and so has the technology.
At Clean Air Force, we aren’t your old fashioned chimney sweeps using an old wire brush. We only use the latest in chimney sweep technology, Snaplok Rotary Power Sweeping. With a variety of different brush heads, cable whips and chain whips we guarantee your chimney will be far cleaner than it would be with an old wire brush.
Worried about mess? We have got you covered. We seal off your fireplace and use 2 stages of filtration on our vacuum to ensure that we leave no trace. We specialize in cleaning, so you can have a stress free chimney sweep experience.
How Often should I get my chimney swept?
This depends on how much you use the fireplace. Generally, once per year is adequate. If you are using the appliance as a main heating source you may want to have it swept twice per year. Ask your Clean Air Force technician if you aren’t sure?
What is Creosote?
Creosote is a chemical mass of carbon that is formed when wood, fossil fuels or tar is burned. Creosote is black, shiny and extremely flammable. Once ignited, creosote can burn at temperatures of up to 2100 degrees Fahrenheit and can expand up to 1400 times in size.
How is Creosote Removed?
Many people still think chimney fires are the normal way to remove creosote, when in fact this could not be farther from the truth. Chimney fires are very dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. The only way to remove creosote safely, is mechanically and chemically by a professional chimney sweep technician.
